Introducing DataMogger: web analytics that follow the money
DataMogger shows which traffic sources, pages and campaigns bring paying customers, not just visitors. Privacy-friendly and free during the beta.
Most analytics tools answer one question well: where did my visitors come from? That’s useful, but it isn’t the question that decides what you build or where you spend. The question that matters is which traffic turns into paying customers — and for most small businesses, the answer sits in two places that never talk to each other: an analytics dashboard on one side, a billing dashboard on the other.
DataMogger joins them.
Revenue next to every number
Add one script tag to your site and connect your billing provider, and every report shows revenue beside the visits: which sources, campaigns, pages, countries and devices bring paying customers, your conversion rate and your revenue per visitor.
The connection works like this:
- The script gives each visitor a first-party ID on your own domain.
- Your checkout passes that ID along with the payment.
- When the payment arrives, DataMogger credits it to the visit that led to it — including renewals, which keep crediting the source that acquired the customer, and refunds, which subtract in the period they happen.
Today DataMogger connects to Stripe and Paddle directly, and any other billing system can send payments through a simple payments API. More native integrations are on the roadmap.
Everything else you’d expect, and a few things you wouldn’t
- Real-time view: who’s on your site right now, where they came from, and what they just did.
- Goals and funnels: track sign-ups and clicks with one attribute, then see where people drop off.
- Visitor journeys: open any visitor to see how they found you, every page they viewed and what they bought.
- AI crawler traffic: see when ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and search crawlers read your pages — to answer a question, to index it or to train on it.
- Insights: when your buyers convert, which countries and devices pay best, and how many visits it takes.
- An API for every report, plus server-side goals and identity.
Privacy by default
DataMogger uses first-party cookies on your own domain, doesn’t fingerprint devices, doesn’t track people across websites and doesn’t store your visitors’ IP addresses. Each website’s data is visible only to its owner, and you can delete a website — or your whole account — at any time. The details are in our privacy policy.
One line to install
